Los Angeles GFCI Electrical Outlets
GFCI PROTECTION:
Locations: Wet and Damp
What is GFCI? GFCI stands for ground fault circuit interrupter. Also known as GFI.There are small transformers within these devices that detect variances in the electrical current that are characteristic of water interference. These devices will automatically shut off power to the protected part of the circuit.
GFCI protection is provided by installing GFCI plugs and GFCI breakers.
Generally GFCI outlets are required where their is going to be moisture or dampness. General places include hot tubs, jacuzzis, bathroom plugs, kitchen countertops, outside plugs, garage plugs, crawl spaces, and other wet and damp locations.
A tripped GFCI:
If you have a plug or a device that does not work in one of these locations, the GFCI might be tripped. First, ensure that the situation that caused the tripping is resolved such as ensuring items are dry. Then reset the plug or breaker. The plugs have a test and a reset button. Press the reset button. If you have a GFCI breaker, it will need to have the handle flipped to the “off” position to reset and then flip the handle to the “on” position. If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to have the GFCI outlet replaced, as they wear out over time. There may be other issues along the circuit that may require the attention of a qualified Los Angeles County electrician. Our Los Angeles County GFCI outlet experts can repair and install GFCI outlets and GFCI breakers throughout your home.

What Our Clients Are Saying About Us
Smart Choice Electric is Rated: 3 / 3
based on these 1 happy customer reviews.
"Robert is extremely knowledgeable and, a matter of great importance, aware of each city's regulations. He also noticed a lot more safety issues that others did not. His base price was reasonable, and although the final offer was higher than that of a couple of other pros, it covered areas of safety which inspectors could possibly address anyway, so there are no surprises with additional costs. One has to weigh cost versus the level of home safety desired. Smart Choice obtained the permits without a contractor's fee, although the cost of the permits was passed on to the resident. But here's another plus: there was none of that sales hype. This is a family-operated business. The crew takes their shoes off in the house, is very respectful, keeps you informed, cleans up each day, and (unlike other professionals who have been at the house on various jobs), did not put their trash in my trash container, which I really appreciated. One thing, however: if your walls need to be opened to rewire a switch or outlet, ensure that everything is tightly covered, or you'll have fine dust everywhere. Consider if A/C filter can handle the fine dust. I have peace of mind knowing a very meticulous professional did the upgrades. Smart Choice even threw in a few freebies, a very nice gesture. Thanks, guys!"
